Cake recipe from scratch

by Maria
(UK)

1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup butter
2 egg whites
1 whole egg
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 cup all purpose flour
1 3/4 tsp baking powder (I also used 1/2 tsp baking soda with it and it turned out even better)
1/2 cup milk
-Cream butter and sugar. stir in vanilla. Mix and beat in the whites of the eggs, one by one followed by the whole egg. Mix the flour, baking powder, and baking soda. Mix the flour mixture with butter/sugar/vanilla/egg mix followed by milk slowly slowly stir it and mix constantly until batter is smooth.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Bake 30-40 mins or till golden brown.

*It was the first cake I baked and my friend gave me the recipe. Guess what it turned out very good and tasty :). I hope you guys would enjoy it, just like I did.
