Chocolate Dump Cake

1 can cherry or strawberry pie filling

1 can crushed pineapple, drained

1 box chocolate cake mix

1 stick butter, cut into thin pats

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 13 x 9-inch cake pan. Layer the pineapple, pie filling and the dry cake mix in the prepared pan. Top with a layer of the butter pats. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until brown and a wooden toothpick inserted in the middle of the cake comes out clean. Cool before cutting.

Variation: You can also use undrained pineapple and 1 cup of chopped pecans or whatever kind of nuts you prefer. Also try canned pears that are chopped with their juice instead of the crushed pineapple. You can also use a different flavor cake mix to really change the taste of the cake.
