Chocolate Mayonnaise Cake Recipe

Chocolate Mayonnaise Cake Recipe

1 ¾ cups unsifted all-purpose flour

1 cup sugar

1/3 cup Hershey’s cocoa

1 ½ teaspoons baking powder

1 ½ teaspoons baking soda

1/8 teaspoon salt

1 cup mayonnaise

1 cup water

2 teaspoons vanilla


Combine the dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Add the mayonnaise, water and the vanilla; beat for 3 minutes with an electric mixer at medium speed. Pour the batter into a greased and floured 10-inch tube cake pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes or until a cake tester inserted in the middle of the cake from the edge comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes and then remove from the pan. Cool completely and frost with your favorite flavor of cake frosting or drizzle a chocolate glaze over the top and down the sides of the cake.
