Nine and One Half Minute Fruit Cake

Tips for making fruit cake

2 ½ cups sifted flour

2 eggs, beaten

28 ounce jar of Borden’s Mincemeat

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 cup walnuts, chopped

1 1/3 cups condensed milk

2 cups mixed candied fruit

Butter a 9-inch tube pan, line it with wax paper and butter the wax paper. Sift the flour and baking soda together. Combine the eggs, mincemeat, milk, fruits and nuts. Fold in the dry ingredients. Pour into the prepared tube cake pan. Bake at 300 degrees for 2 hours. Cool and remove the paper.

Glaze:

Bring ½ cup of dark Karo syrup to a boil and pour over the cake while the glaze is still warm. Decorate with maraschino cherries or other bits of candied fruits.
